SamTrans Campaign Promotes Two Popular Routes
SamTrans wants two of its most popular routes – 390 and 391 – to become even more popular. So, the transit agency is spreading the word about the benefits of the service: frequency, destinations, connections and friendly bus operators.
SamTrans is sending a letter to promote bus service along this key travel corridor - that was established when Father Junipero Serra traveled along it establishing missions – to nearly 27,000 residences one-quarter mile on either side of El Camino from Daly City to Redwood City. The agency also will run ads in English-language and Spanish-language newspapers and will post eye-catching ads in six of its bus shelters. The goal of the campaign is to attract 2 percent more customers through November.
A long stretch of El Camino Real is home to both routes, so SamTrans is producing a joint timetable to provide an easy reference for current and new customers. Between the Redwood Caltrain Station and Daly City, buses come as frequently as every 15 minutes.
The timetable will be available on SamTrans buses and at key community centers the first week in October. The timetable, along with a list of all bus stops served, is available online at www.samtrans.com/ElCaminoBusService.
More than 37,000 riders take a SamTrans bus every weekday.
