Take SamTrans to Fun Destinations Around the Peninsula and More
Let SamTrans be your ride this summer. Leave the car at home and discover how easy it is to get on the bus and go to fun destinations where SamTrans travels.
Beginning June 17 at the San Mateo County Fair, SamTrans will kick-off a series of events to encourage bus ridership throughout the Peninsula and Coastside as part of its Fun Destinations promotion. SamTrans Routes 390 and 391 stop on El Camino Real, a couple of blocks away from the entrance to the fair, which also is served by Route 292. The fair is located at 2495 S. Delaware St.
At the fair, a booth will be set-up for visitors to board the new SamTrans bus, view a Web display and read customer testimonial campaign ads. There also will be games and prizes for visitors. Complete a survey and receive a special gift.
"SamTrans wants to showcase a sampling of the fun places it can take you," said Executive Officer of Customer Service and Marketing Rita Haskin, who noted that about 25 percent of SamTrans customers ride the bus to recreational or social destinations and to go shopping.
Over the next few months, look for the SamTrans tent, bus and the Fun Destinations Team at these upcoming locations:
- June 17: San Mateo County Fair, San Mateo Expo Center
- July 7: Onetta Harris Community Center’s Summer Camp, Menlo Park
- July 24: “It’s Harvest Time” Coastside Farmers’ Market, Half Moon Bay
- Aug. 7: Kahuna Kupuna Surf Contest at Linda Mar Beach, Pacifica
- Late August: Serramonte Shopping Center for Back to School, Daly City
At each event, the Fun Destinations Team will give away a $25 Clipper transit card.
