Take SamTrans to Pacific Coast Fog Fest – Sept. 24 & 25

If you are one of the more than 60,000 people planning to attend the Pacific Coast Fog Fest in Pacifica Sept. 24 and 25, you can avoid traffic and parking hassles by taking SamTrans.

The festival area, which runs on Palmetto Avenue between Shell and Montecito streets, is served by Routes 110 and 112. Route 112, which usually serves stops on Palmetto Avenue, will be rerouted to Oceana Boulevard, just one block from the festival. Route 140 serves Pacific Manor Shopping Center less than one mile north of the event.

The Fog Fest, created in 1986 to promote Pacifica, is held the last full weekend of September because the weather is unbeatable. The event will kick off Saturday at 10 a.m. with the Discover Pacifica Parade, Sand Castle Contest and Marching Band Competition. Arts and crafts booths, food and beverage booths and a variety of activities begin after the parade.

All proceeds from the festival are given back to the community. To date more than 40 community groups have been awarded more than $525,000.
