SamTrans Marketing Materials Win National Awards
SamTrans recently won a Grand Award and two first place awards in the American Public
Transportation Association's AdWheel competition for marketing materials.
The bus agency's youth "Escapes" brochure and El Camino Real direct mail piece were
awarded first place. The El Camino piece also won the Grand Award.
The "Escapes" brochure illustrates the bus riding adventures of three teens who
explain how easy it is to use SamTrans to go skating, shopping or even on a date.
To market its frequent El Camino Real bus service, SamTrans mailed a brochure
explaining the benefits of riding SamTrans on El Camino Real to all residents within
one-half mile of El Camino Real from Daly City to Redwood City. The mailer included
two complimentary SamTrans tickets, of which 8,242 were redeemed.
The AdWheel Awards honor APTA member organizations for excellence in their
advertising, marketing, promotion and communications efforts. More than 750 entries
were received during this year's contest.
