SamTrans Seeks Community Representative
The San Mateo County Transit District is seeking a volunteer for its Citizens
Advisory Committee to represent the community.
The ideal candidate is someone who can represent community interests, which interact
with the SamTrans' fixed-route service. These interests include interaction with San
Mateo County schools, labor, business and industry and environmental groups.
The 15-member CAC is comprised of representatives from various segments of the
community and acts in an advisory capacity to the SamTrans Board of Directors.
Responsibilities include providing input on the needs of transit users and informing
county residents of transit programs.
Applications (PDF, 49.1 KB)
are available at SamTrans, 1250 San Carlos Ave., in San Carlos or by calling
(650) 508-6223 or (TDD only 650-508-6448). Deadline for applications is Nov. 20.
Applicants do not need to be residents of San Mateo County. However, when making
appointments to the CAC, the transit district may give preference to county residents
if such preference could result in a more informed membership.
The CAC meets the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the district's central
office in San Carlos. All meetings are open to the public.
