SamTrans Kicks-Off Maximum Value Pass Program
SamTrans is giving every adult bus rider a chance to be a M.V.P. Maximum Value
Passes offer an additional incentive to regular SamTrans passengers purchase of a
monthly bus pass. Recently, the SamTrans Board of Directors voted to make every 12th
Monthly Pass free for frequent adult riders.
"SamTrans is always looking for new ways to encourage ridership and reward our
regular passengers," said Rita Haskin, chief communications officer for the transit
district. "This program is another example of the district's customer focus."
All riders currently purchasing Senior/Disabled, Adult Local, SF Local and Express
monthly passes will be eligible to participate in the 18-month pilot program, which
kicks off with the January 2003 pass.
The Youth Pass is not included because the Summer Youth Pass offers a substantial
discount incentive. SamTrans also offers a program with schools allowing needy
families to purchase the monthly Youth Pass at a 27 percent discount over the regular
price.
