SamTrans to Hold Public Hearing on Fare and Tariff Changes
The San Mateo County Transit District Board of Directors will hold a public hearing
July 9 regarding a proposed fare change for the SamTrans Pass with Muni Sticker. The
change would reflect a fare increase on the Muni Sticker portion and a uniform 15
percent discount on the SamTrans Pass portion.
The meeting will be held at 3 p.m. at SamTrans headquarters, 1250 San Carlos Ave. in
San Carlos.
The SamTrans Pass with Muni Sticker is a combination of a SamTrans Adult Monthly Pass,
and a Muni monthly Fast Pass which is valid for use on any Muni bus or light rail
line.
The San Francisco Municipal Railway is planning to increase the price of the Muni
monthly sticker used by SamTrans patrons from $28 to $35 effective Sept. 1, which
also would increase the price of a SamTrans Pass with Muni Sticker.
The public hearing also will address a proposal to apply a uniform 15 percent
discount to the SamTrans Pass portion of the combined price. Currently, the discount
ranges from 13 to 19 percent.
The proposed fare changes are:
- Local service: From $63 to $69
- San Francisco/San Mateo County local service: From $77 to $86
- Express service: From $119 to $127
The public is invited to provide comments at the public hearing, or by calling
1-800-660-4287 (or TDD only 650-508-6448). Written comments also may be submitted
through e-mail at pubhearcomments03@samtrans.com
