Transit District Nabs National Award for Youth Video
The American Public Transportation Association recently presented the transit district
with a First Place AdWheel Award in the category of video presentation for its
"SamTrans On The Move."
The district's Marketing Department crafted the video to promote youth ridership and
to help educate young people about how to plan a trip to a local destination, promote
proper etiquette while using the system and how to access travel information.
SamTrans "followed" four teenagers as they taught one another about the bus system and
all of the exciting places it could take them, giving them freedom to go where they
wanted without depending on their parents.
The award was presented at APTA's Annual Conference in Salt Lake City. Transit
agencies from across the United States compete in the AdWheel competition every year.
The AdWheel Awards honor APTA member organizations for excellence in their
advertising, marketing, promotion and communications efforts.
