SamTrans Seeks Members for Citizens Advisory Committee

The San Mateo County Transit District is seeking volunteers to fill three seats on its Citizens Advisory Committee.

The 15-member CAC acts in an advisory capacity to the SamTrans Board of Directors. The three open positions on the CAC will represent users of San Mateo County’s multiple modes of transit which interact with SamTrans’ fixed-route service, such as Caltrain, BART and shuttles.

CAC members provide input on the needs of transit users, as well as help inform county residents of transit programs.

Applications (PDF, 116.5 KB) are available at SamTrans, 1250 San Carlos Ave., in San Carlos; or by calling (650) 508-6223 or (TDD only) (650) 508-6448. Deadline for applications is Sept. 3.

Applicants do not need to be residents of San Mateo County. However, when making appointments to the CAC, the transit district may give preference to county residents if such preference could result in a more informed membership.

The CAC meets the first Wednesday of the month at 6:30 p.m. in the district's central office in San Carlos. All meetings are open to the public.
