SamTrans and Caltrain Run to Bay to Breakers

Runners and spectators going to the Albertsons Bay to Breakers footrace on Sunday, May 15, can conserve their energy by taking SamTrans or Caltrain to San Francisco. Both systems are providing special service on race day.

Caltrain

Caltrain will provide a special northbound train departing from the San Jose Diridon Station at 5:45 a.m. The train will make all regular stops along the Peninsula, and arrive in San Francisco by 7:21 a.m. After arriving at the San Francisco Caltrain Station, participants can either walk or take the N Judah to the starting line. Passengers may return on any of Caltrain’s regular Sunday trains, which leave on the hour. Check www.caltrain.com for schedule information.

SamTrans

SamTrans will operate three special express bus routes along the Peninsula to carry both spectators and runners to and from the race.

A “Participants’ Bus” will be available for storing racers’ non-valuable items, such as food, water and extra clothes, during the race and will meet racers near the finish line.
