SamTrans Gets Runners to Bay to Breakers in Record Time
SamTrans is set to rush runners and spectators to
the Bay to Breakers race on Sunday, May 20.
SamTrans is offering a new express service,
departing from six convenient locations along
the Peninsula:

The fare to the race is $12, which must be paid in
exact cash fare at the time patrons board the bus.
Runners will be able to store their gear on the bus
during the race, and pick it up afterward.
Runners will be dropped off near the starting line at
7:10 a.m., and spectators will be dropped off near the
finish line at 7:40 a.m.
From the finish line, the first bus will depart Sunset
Boulevard (between Irving & Judah streets) at 10 a.m.
or when full. The last bus will leave at 2:30 p.m.
(after the Footstock concert is over). SamTrans
ridership to the Bay to Breakers race has been in
decline over recent years, and ridership to this
year’s event will help determine whether SamTrans
can continue providing this special event service.
