As school starts up for the fall, parents in San Mateo County know they can count on SamTrans to get their kids to school in the morning. And, kids know they can count on SamTrans to take them wherever they want to go after the bell rings in the afternoon.

SamTrans serves 25 elementary schools, 18 middle schools, and 18 high schools throughout San Mateo County. The routes for each school are available on the SamTrans Web site.

Students younger than 18 can take advantage of SamTrans’ Youth Pass for only $29 each month. The Youth Pass is good for unlimited travel on any Local or Express route at any time. SamTrans offers an even more discounted monthly Youth Pass for students who qualify for the free or reduced-cost lunch program. These additionally discounted passes are only available through participating schools.

For periodic bus riders, SamTrans Youth Tokens provide up to a 20 percent discount over paying cash fares on local routes.
