Bus riders in Pacifica will soon be able to stay out later and travel on Sundays, thanks to a SamTrans demonstration program to expand service to Pacifica on its Route 14. Beginning Sunday, Aug. 19, Route 14 will run later on weekdays until approximately 10 p.m. Saturday service will run every hour, instead of the current two-hour window, and will run until approximately 9 p.m. The route will add service on Sunday, with 10 daily trips. Details of the new service are available on revised timetables for Route 14.

The demonstration service expansion is made possible by a grant from the City/County Association of Governments of San Mateo County, along with additional funding from SamTrans. The grant money is expected to last through September 2009. The expanded service plan was developed by a Pacifica stakeholder’s group, which was comprised of representatives from the City of Pacifica, C/CAG, the Peninsula Traffic Congestion Relief Alliance, SamTrans and community representatives.
