SamTrans Releases Senior Mobility Guide For San Mateo County
SamTrans just released a helpful booklet for
seniors who want to stay “on the go.” The Senior
Mobility Guide: Staying Connected in San Mateo
County was developed as part of the San Mateo
County Senior Mobility Action Plan and Initiative,
which seeks to keep older people safe and connected
to their communities as problems related to aging
make it harder for them to get around.
The guide contains comprehensive information on
the different transportation options available
to seniors in San Mateo County, including public
transit, paratransit, community shuttles, senior
center services, community services, driver safety
training, walking and fitness. Additionally, the
guide has a section designed to help seniors
assess their own transportation needs.
The guide was produced by SamTrans in partnership
with the San Mateo County Aging and Adult Services
and the San Mateo County Paratransit Coordinating
Council. It was produced in English, Spanish
and Chinese.
A free copy of the guide is available at libraries
and senior centers throughout San Mateo County.
Interested persons also can request a guide to be
