SamTrans Making Changes to Six Bus Routes as Part of Regular Service Adjustments

SamTrans will make changes to six of its bus routes on January 22 as part of the agency’s regularly-scheduled service adjustments.

Three times a year, SamTrans adjusts its scheduling and service operations to take into account changing traffic impacts, travel patterns and bus operator availability. The adjustments help SamTrans improve on-time performance standards and make the bus system run more smoothly.

As part of the changes, bus service will be added to Canada Cove on SamTrans Route 17, which caters to Coastside residents. Other minor adjustments include the elimination of two southbound  afternoon trips on Route 62, and the removal of a weekday northbound evening trip on Route 110.

A full description of the January 22 changes will soon be posted to https://www.samtrans.com/schedules.

Additional documents detailing the new changes will be distributed onboard buses and at scheduled outlets.

While the changes set for January 22 are relatively minor, SamTrans is set to undergo more significant adjustments in the future to address recent declining ridership trends. Details about those service changes are still being evaluated.
