COVID-19 Update: As of March 25, SamTrans temporarily has suspended fare collection. Buses with multiple doors will board from the rear door until further notice. ADA passengers and riders needing assistance may still board through the front doors. See Press Release.

SamTrans Mobile App
SamTrans Mobile, the official ticketing app from SamTrans, lets you buy tickets and plan trips on SamTrans and other Bay Area public transit systems (must purchase tickets separately for other systems). Just download the free app, register your debit/credit card in our secure system, and we’ll get you where you need to go.

Monthly Passes
SamTrans Monthly passes are available only on the Clipper Card and may be purchased between the 21stof the month prior to the month the pass is valid until the 15th of the month the pass is valid.  The Monthly passes may be loaded on to the Clipper Card at SamTrans headquarters, from any Clipper retail outlet or online at www.clippercard.com (takes up to five days to load). 

Adult, Youth and Eligible Discount tickets / Paratransit  tickets
There are several ways to purchase:

  1. At any of our sales outlets. (tokens and Eligible Discount tickets only)
  2. By mail or fax using the ticket order form
  3. SamTrans headquarters (1250 San Carlos Ave., San Carlos, open Monday - Friday from 8 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.)

Day Passes
Day passes are available for purchase only on the bus.  They may be purchased with cash, Change cards or a combination of both.  Day passes carry a local fare value.

Colma Park and Ride Monthly Parking Permit
Colma Park and Ride Monthly Parking permits can be purchased after the 16th of the month for the following month by mail or fax, in-person at our headquarters and through our online store.  Click here for information.

Payments
SamTrans headquarters accepts credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express), personal checks, cashier checks and money orders. Checks and money orders should be made payable to SamTrans.

SamTrans also accepts transit vouchers from the following transit benefit providers: TranBen, Commuter Check, TransitCenter, Inc. and WageWorks.  Commuter benefit cards may only be used at SamTrans headquarters and cards must be designated for transit or parking.
