Your Connection to Super Bowl LX

SamTrans is your connection to the Big Game, events, and concerts at Levi’s® Stadium and around the Bay Area.

Connect via SamTrans

SamTrans does not serve Levi’s Stadium directly, but fans and event-goers can still use SamTrans to reach major transfer hubs or Caltrain connection points along the Peninsula. From there, transfer and continue onward to the game using regional transit partners.

Many SamTrans routes serve major Caltrain stations and transit centers, including Redwood City, Menlo Park, and Millbrae. Routes such as 280, 281, 292 and 296 provide service to these locations. Service varies by day and time. Please confirm your trip using the SamTrans trip planner.

From your SamTrans transfer point, ride Caltrain southbound toward Millbrae, Mountain View, Sunnyvale, or San Jose.

Option A: Caltrain + VTA Light Rail (Recommended)

  • Exit Caltrain at the Mountain View station.
  • Transfer to VTA light rail Orange Line toward Great America.
  • Exit at Great America Station. Levi’s Stadium is a short walk from the station

Option B: Caltrain + VTA Bus (Alternate)

  • Exit Caltrain at the Mountain View or Sunnyvale station.
  • Transfer to VTA bus routes serving Santa Clara, including routes 55, 57, or 59.
  • These routes stop near Great America and Levi’s Stadium.

If you are starting outside the Peninsula, your trip may include additional regional services:

  • BART + VTA: Ride BART to Milpitas, then transfer to VTA light rail Orange Line to Great America Station.
  • Amtrak, Capitol Corridor, or ACE: Some trains stop at Great America Station. From there, walk to Levi’s Stadium.

Paying for Your Trip

SamTrans offers several easy ways to pay your fare when traveling to Super Bowl events.

Buy or Tap Before You Ride!

SamTrans riders can pay their fare in several ways: use a physical Clipper card, use Clipper in a mobile wallet, or tap a contactless credit or debit card, including Apple Pay or Google Pay, or cash (exact change recommended). Visit www.samtrans.com/fares/clipper and samtrans.com/fares for full details on all fare and payment options.

Avoid Ticket Lines — Buy Before You Ride!

Caltrain and VTA recommends pre-purchasing the digital SBLX Caltrain/VTA Day Pass for round-trip travel exclusively on Super Bowl Sunday only. It’s the best way to skip the game-day crowds at ticket machines or avoid having to tap on and off.

To buy a day pass using your phone’s digital wallet and without any need to download a new app, scan here:

You can also download the Token Transit or Transit app, search for “VTA” under transit agency in the Transit app fares menu, then select the “SBLX Caltrain and VTA 1-Day” ticket type.

Visit VTA Super Bowl Service Info to learn more.

Caltrain + VTA Paper Day Passes

Caltrain station ticket machines can also print a joint adult Caltrain + VTA Day Pass. The Caltrain portion is valid to Zone 3 — perfect for customers heading to Levi's® Stadium or Great America — and costs an additional $7.50 compared to a Caltrain Day Pass. The joint pass is valid on Caltrain through the last train of the night and on VTA local buses and light rail until 3 a.m.

Plan for Crowds and Extra Security

Caltrain connects with the VTA Orange Line at the Mountain View Station. Once at Levi’s Stadium Great America station, enter and exit the stadium through Gate A.

Levi’s Stadium® and surrounding transit stations will be extremely busy before and after Super Bowl events. Give yourself extra time for any ticket purchases, security screening, and transit boarding.

Alcohol Policy

Caltrain reminds customers that open alcoholic beverages are allowed on the trains until 9 p.m. Caltrain encourages riders to drink responsibly.
