ECR Detour in Effect Seven Days a Week
Effective April 30, 2026, the ECR detour now applies to all trips, seven days a week. Caltrans construction and lane closures require the detour to remain in place for safety reasons.
- Update May 14, 2026 – Due to installed Caltrans traffic barriers, ECR northbound will now detour at 2nd Ave. in San Mateo, turn left on San Mateo Ave, and continue to California Dr. SamTrans is working to add additional bus stops.
- ECR bus stops on El Camino Real in Burlingame and San Mateo are temporarily closed between Rosedale Ave and E Bellevue Ave for southbound service, and between 2nd Ave (San Mateo) and Trousdale Dr for northbound service. See the full list below.
- As construction continues, detours may change. Riders should plan extra travel time because traffic patterns may shift.
