SamTrans En Route to Redwood City’s Hometown Holidays Parade

On Saturday, December 7, a custom-decorated SamTrans holiday bus will once again roll down Broadway in Downtown Redwood City for the annual Hometown Holidays Festival & Parade. Festivities will take place, rain or shine, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Courthouse Square. This is SamTrans’ ninth consecutive year of participating in the parade, which begins promptly at 4:30 p.m. and ends at approximately 5:30 p.m.

“SamTrans is thrilled to be a part of this joyous celebration,” said Jim Hartnett, CEO/General Manager of the San Mateo County Transit District. “It is a valuable opportunity to spread holiday cheer and to promote the vital transportation services we provide for everyone in San Mateo County.”

In addition to a parade, this free, family-friendly holiday event will include live entertainment, carnival rides, photos with Santa in the History Museum, and a newly added children’s play area with inflatable jump houses.

Attendees will also have a chance to enjoy Caltrain’s annual Holiday Train, which is scheduled to roll into the nearby Redwood City Station at 6:10 p.m. that same evening where the holiday bus will be parked after the parade.
