Youth Riders

SamTrans is a safe, clean and convenient way to get to school. With buses traveling throughout San Mateo County, students and parents have come to rely on SamTrans for arriving at school on time.

In partnership with the San Mateo County Office of Education, SamTrans provides free bus fares for Socioeconomically Disadvantaged (SED) students, as defined by the California Department of Education by swiping their pass in the farebox.  Click Youth Unlimited to learn more.

Find which routes serve your schools.  The 2-digit routes are School Oriented Routes that may be tied to schools' bell schedules.  The 3-digit routes are our Community, Local, and Frequent routes that cannot be tied to a school bell schedule.

Face coverings are recommended when riding or waiting for the bus, in accordance with public health guidance.

As a reminder, please make sure that you are riding behind the limit line at the front of the bus.
