About the CAC

The San Mateo County Transit District (SamTrans) Citizens Advisory Committee (CAC) was formed to represent transit users and provide input on the needs of current and potential transit customers, as well as help inform community residents of transit programs. The committee is composed of 15 volunteer representatives from various segments of ridership and the community and acts in an advisory capacity to the SamTrans Board of Directors. The membership term is three years. Interested applicants may email cacsecretary@samtrans.com to receive an application.

The CAC meets on the last Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm at the San Mateo County Transit District, Bacciocco Auditorium, 2nd Floor, 1250 San Carlos Avenue, San Carlos, CA. Meetings are conducted in a hybrid format (virtually via Zoom and in person). Individual members of the public may participate in person if they comply with the District's workplace safety policies as outlined on the meeting agenda.

Correspondence: Correspondence to the CAC may be emailed to cacsecretary@samtrans.com or mailed to 1250 San Carlos Ave., San Carlos, CA 94070, which will be compiled and posted weekly on Friday (holidays excluded). To be included in the CAC’s weekly correspondence reading file, it must be received by 2:00 PM the day before. For the week of the CAC meeting, it must be received by 2:00 PM the day before the CAC meeting. All correspondence, including personal information (i.e. names and email addresses), shall become disclosable public records.

Public Comments: Public comments may be emailed to publiccomment@samtrans.com or mailed to 1250 San Carlos Ave., San Carlos, CA 94070, will be compiled and posted weekly along with any CAC correspondence. Any written public comments received within two hours prior to the start of the meeting will be included in the weekly CAC correspondence reading file.

Public comments and correspondence, including any personal information such as names and email addresses, submitted to this agency shall become disclosable public records.
