On Sunday, June 18, SamTrans will be adjusting several of its schedules and routes to improve frequency and service for our riders. A new app-based, on-demand transit service will be launched called SamTrans Ride Plus that will operate within Half Moon Bay, East Palo Alto and the Belle Haven neighborhood of Menlo Park. As school will not be in session during the summer months, there will be no school-oriented service.

SamTrans continues to implement its Reimagine SamTrans service plan with improved frequency, expanded operating hours and route alignment changes. Some key changes to note include reinstating route 276 in Redwood City, extending route 281 to Stanford University and Medical Center with increased frequency, and adding later trips for route 278 and 295 (weekdays only). SamTrans will also increase the frequency on route 121.

Route 280 will be streamlined to provide shorter travel time. The route will no longer serve Stanford Shopping Center or Cooley, Clarke, or Woodland Avenues and instead travel between Palo Alto Transit Center and Purdue/Fordham every 60-75 minutes. Alternatives include the extended and more frequent route 281 or the new on-demand service Ride Plus.
