The SamTrans Maintenance department is the nerve center of the public transit system in San Mateo County. Responsible for maintaining the fleet of buses, Redi-Wheel paratransit vehicles, non-revenue vehicles, inventory stores, and on-board technologies.

Hiring Process
- Minimum Qualification Screening
- Clean driving record (no more than 2 points on your license, no suspensions or reckless driving convictions within 7 years, no accidents within 5 years)
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and potentially a variety of shifts
- Skills Test, Practical Interview & Panel Interview
- DOT Physical Exam and Drug Test
- Must possess a valid Class B Permit or License with Passenger & Air Brake Endorsements before starting training
SamTrans offers the highest retention incentive in the entire SF Bay Area.
As a valued member of the team, you are eligible for a $2000 incentive at the end of their probationary period as well as an additional $2000 after your first year.
