Reimagine SamTrans Seeks Public Opinion on Potential Service Changes

SamTrans is conducting public outreach on the three potential alternatives for its service identified through Reimagine SamTrans, a comprehensive operational analysis of the agency. San Mateo County residents can give feedback online at www.ReimagineSamTrans.com through Monday, May 31 which will be instrumental to determining how existing routes could change.

The three alternatives were crafted from the feedback received from the outreach campaign held in 2019, and will help to modernize and optimize SamTrans service. The alternatives are based around the following goals:

  • Alternative 1: Direct, high frequency service to places within San Mateo County
  • Alternative 2: Expanded connections to rail stations and the region outside of the county
  • Alternative 3: Maximize geographic coverage of service within the county

This round of outreach will focus on and drill down into the route details, such as design, frequency and span of service, as well as the trade-offs between different models.

Reimagine SamTrans began with three key goals in mind: Improving the experience for existing SamTrans customers, growing new and more frequent ridership on SamTrans and building SamTrans’ efficiency and effectiveness as a mobility provider.
