The San Mateo County Transit District Board of Directors voted to make Brooks Esser the newest public member to serve on the board this week during its monthly meeting.

Esser was one of 13 people interviewed for the seat and will represent all of San Mateo County.  He will be one of nine directors responsible for setting policy for the transit district, which operates SamTrans bus service.

Esser also serves as chairman of the North Fair Oaks Community Council, an unincorporated area of San Mateo County that borders downtown Redwood City. Esser’s first official meeting on the board will be on Oct. 4, 2023.
