Downtown Redwood City is about to get a jolly boost of electric-powered holiday spirit. This Saturday, SamTrans returns for its 14th appearance in the Hometown Holidays celebration, rolling into the parade with the brightly wrapped, festooned and fan-favorite Holiday Bus — now featuring the long-awaited comeback of Sammy the Seagull.
This year’s Holiday Bus arrives with a fresh, artistic wrap that showcases Sammy in full festive flair, along with sparkling lights inside and out that turn the zero-emission battery-electric bus into a rolling winter wonderland. Hometown Holidays attendees can also expect a flurry of giveaways as SamTrans employees hand out SamTrans Santa hats and Holiday Bus stickers to help everyone get into the spirit.
Following the parade, the Holiday Bus will be parked so visitors can climb aboard for an up-close look at the state-of-the-art electric vehicle. Families are invited to snap photos, explore the bus’s seasonal décor, and learn more about SamTrans’ growing zero-emission fleet.
Hometown Holidays features a day full of winter-themed festivities, live entertainment, and family activities throughout downtown Redwood City. Parade runs 4:30 to 5:15 p.m. Full event details are available on the City’s website.
SamTrans is proud to be part of a community tradition that brings residents together each season — and equally proud to share a glimpse of the future of clean, quiet transit across San Mateo County.
