SamTrans celebrates Pride Month with third annual Pride bus and parade participation

SamTrans is proudly celebrating Pride Month with the return of its Pride-wrapped bus — a vibrant symbol of inclusivity that will be featured at three major Pride events on the Peninsula and in San Francisco this June.  

The 2025 celebration marks the third consecutive year that SamTrans has joined the festivities with a dedicated Pride bus, reinforcing the agency’s commitment to embracing the many communities it serves. 

The SamTrans Pride Bus will make appearances at the following events: 

At both the San Mateo and Half Moon Bay celebrations, SamTrans will also host a booth where attendees can meet staff, learn more about the agency’s services, and explore how SamTrans fosters an inclusive and welcoming workplace. 

“The Pride Bus reflects our deep belief that public transit should be inclusive, welcoming, and representative of all communities,” said SamTrans General Manager/CEO April Chan. “By showing up at these celebrations, we’re reinforcing our role as a connector — not just of places, but of people.” 

The Pride Bus, wrapped in a colorful, eye-catching design, represents more than just a visual celebration — it stands as a rolling affirmation that SamTrans welcomes and values all people.  

The agency invites community members, riders and allies to join in the Pride festivities and help celebrate a more inclusive San Mateo County.

The San Mateo County Transit District operates 74 routes and two on-demand service areas. Funded in part by a half-cent sales tax, the district also provides administrative support for Caltrain and the San Mateo County Transportation Authority. SamTrans has provided bus service to San Mateo County customers since 1976.
