SamTrans Serramonte Incident 12/2/2022


Last Friday, a SamTrans bus was involved in a major collision in the Serramonte Center parking lot that resulted in several injuries, with four individuals being transported to San Francisco General Hospital. This morning, SamTrans General Manager April Chan released the following statement as an update following developments over the weekend:

“We are relieved that all of the individuals who were hospitalized as a result of the accident are recovering and have been discharged. We continue to extend our support to them and their loved ones. 

Serving the community and the safety of our riders, employees, and the public are always our highest priority. The investigation into the cause of the collision is still ongoing. We are working closely with the authorities to determine what happened and we will take any necessary steps to prevent similar incidents in the future. Anyone who was impacted or whose property was damaged as a result of the incident should contact the Claims Department at this number (650) 551-6188 and we will work to help them to file a claim and ensure it is processed as expeditiously as possible. 

All routes are serving passengers under normal operations. We thank you for your patience and cooperation as we continue to work through this situation, and we will continue to provide updates as more information becomes available.”
