SamTrans and the San Mateo County Transportation Authority (TA) have published webpages detailing accomplishments over the course of 2023.

Both agencies made many accomplishments in 2023. SamTrans launched its newest battery-electric bus into service this past summer, as well the Ride Plus microstransit service that allows people to book vans for short trips within East Palo Alto, Half Moon Bay, and the Belle Haven neighborhood of Menlo Park.

Earlier this year, the TA opened the San Mateo 101 Express Lanes. The project, which came in both on-time and on-budget, fully opened in both directions along 22 miles of the corridor. The TA also recently selected 11 recipients to receive $135.9 million in competitive grant money for its 2023 Highway Program.

Both agencies are committed to continuing to improve their services to meet the needs of those who live and work in San Mateo County. The New Year will see more efforts to reduce congestion and help people get where they need to go.
